Create a long and sexy hairdo
Supplies needed: Sharp scissors, hair clip, perm end papers or tissue paper, 2 sections of drinking straw cut into 1" pieces, perm rods, 2 pieces pipe cleaner.
I am using a Basic Black Charlotte for my demonstration.

I had already rooted in a new part in two shades of Saran hair, so that will not be part of the tutorial. Photo #1- I sometimes find it easier to work on the hair if the head is off the body. If I use a 12" dolls' stand to hold her head I can work on it easily. Her hair is wet down prior to styling and cutting. This make the hair much easier to work on. The first thing I do is to section off a small side section of hair, and clip the rest back out of the way. See photo #2.

Photo #3- Next, I divide the section of hair into two pieces. Photo #4- I angle cut the section closest to the face. It is cut shortest near the face and the second section is cut slightly longer, but sill on an angle. I then rolled up the shorter section first, using end paper behind the hair to facilitate the rolling. When you roll up an angled section of hair, needless to say the rod or roller is angled as well. I used a 1" section of straw and secured the curl with a pipe cleaner through the straw, wrapped around to hold it in place. Then, I rolled up the second cut section on the second piece of straw. I used straws here for these shorter sections instead of the perm rods as they fit better and can roll up closer to the face. On the opposite side of the head, section off another area of hair, the same width as the section on the other side. Just clip it aside for now. We will get back to it later.
